Croatian Geoheritage Sites with the Best-Case Study Analyses Regarding Former Mining and Petroleum Activities

The revitalization and protection of industrial natural heritage is an important part the cultural identity a society that respects its history wants to build prosperous sustainable future. This paper describes four selected case studies successful presentation mining, geology, petroleum in Republic Croatia: former quarry (Rupnica), two metal mines (St. Barbara Mine Zrinski Mine) one site (Peklenica Selnica Petroleum Heritage Park). For strategy areas, SWOT analysis TOWS matrix were performed. Sub-strategy ranking was done through five key principles geotourism. strong weak points revitalized projects are indicated, as well recommendations for realisation future geoheritage projects. how currently poor-mining country, which intensively developing tourism, can protect, present, promote heritage, related geoheritage. One main goals encourage all stakeholders based on simplified form mentioned method matrix.
